MODULATION
January 8th, 2021 – 8pm EST
2021 PROTOTYPE Festival

Angélica Negrón’s piece “Otra Cosa” will debut tonight at 8pm EST as part of the digital premiere of MODULATION, the opening show of the 2021 PROTOTYPE Festival. The piece, which features music composed by Negron and a libretto by Mariela Pabón, is performed by Lido Pimienta and Patti Kilroy and accompanied by animation by Pabón and Juan Roberto.

The PROTOTYPE Festival is a co-production between Beth Morrison Project’s and HERE, two companies dedicated to showcasing multi-disciplinary opera-theatre and music-theatre works. The Festival presents “a wide spectrum of works, from intimate black-box experiences to larger chamber opera productions, valuing artistic, curatorial, and producorial risk-taking.”

MODULATION is described as “a creative investigation on the strands that weave together our lives over this past tumultuous and revelatory year. A digital, self-guided exploration of these distanced times created by thirteen of the most provocative and diverse voices in the contemporary music idiom; MODULATION leads you through the themes of ISOLATION, IDENTITY, and FEAR, with the connection of BREATH. An electrifying auditory and visual journey of new creations awaits.”
